Wedding Music Piece of the Week

This week I have chosen the piece Plink, Plank, Plunk by the American Composer Leroy Anderson. He has been described by John Williams as ‘one of the great American Masters of light orchestral music’ and uses all sorts of creative instrumental effects in his music to make people laugh. This piece has huge possibilies for audience participation with all manner of extraordinary noises, as we proved last week when The Lochrian Ensemble performed a brilliant string quartet arrangement of it with the help of some willing volunteers at Staple Hill Methodist Church and St Mary’s Church, Yatton.  Lots of fun and a good deal of laughs was had by all which is what music should be full of!
