Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas with Lucis Choir, Francis Faux and The Lochrian Ensemble, Prior Park Chapel, Bath Saturday 15th July 2017 7.15pm

​Lucis’ 2016-17 season concludes with a Glyndebourne-inspired event at Prior Park chapel, featuring a concert version of Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas. The choir will be accompanied by the Lochrian Ensemble with guest soloists Esther Brazil, Gwilym Bowen, Robyn Allegra Parton, Kirsten Mulcahy and Marie Elliott.

David Ogden, City of Bristol Choir and The Lochrian Ensemble perform Bach’s mighty setting of the Gospel narrative, which recounts the events of Christ’s final days – betrayal, trial and crucifixion – in music brimming with power and drama.
