The Lochrian Ensemble brings together a larger group of excellent musicians to form a flexible professional ensemble of any size from trio to chamber orchestra. With a reputation for ‘sensitivity and musicality’ (David Ogden, conductor, City of Bristol Choir) the Ensemble is recognised as a leading accompanist of choral music and opera, and its performances have received high critical acclaim.

The Ensemble has performed with many local choirs including the Exultate Singers, City of Bristol Choir, Lucis Choir, the Bristol Lord Mayor’s Chapel Choir, Trinity Singers, Chantry Singers, Costazi Consort and the Somerset Singers.  The Ensemble is noted for its passionate and committed musicianship.

“I have been working with members of the Lochrian Ensemble for many years and, when booking an orchestra, my first call is always to them. The Lochrian have become my go to string group for any and all string ensemble work, whether it be a quartet or full-sized string orchestra. They are beautiful players, super responsive, highly professional and simply – lovely to work with.”

“Thank you and your ensemble for your lovely playing at our concert last Saturday. The concert has caused quite a stir – we have had so many people writing and ringing up to express their appreciation and enjoyment…
