The Lochrian Ensemble perform with Russian Theremin player Lydia Kavina at St George’s Bristol

In the first part of this show – commissioned for Filmic by St George’s – Lydia will lead a short introductory lecture/demonstration on the instrument while in the second, accompanied by the Lochrian Ensemble with Christopher Northam, piano, and Imogen Triner, oboe, she will perform a special Filmic programme including Miklos Rozsa’s ‘Fantasy’ from Hitchcock’s Spellbound, Martinu’s ‘Fantasia for Theremin, Oboe, Piano and String Quartet’, and music by Howard Shore for Ed Wood and by Danny Elfman for Mars Attacks.
