My Wedding Music Piece of the Week this week is the beautiful song ‘Someone to watch over me’ – composed by George Gershwin with lyrics by Ira Gershwin. It was originally an uptempo jazz tune but Ira suggested that the song might work better as a ballad and George agreed!
The Lochrian Ensemble are lucky enough to have a couple of different string quartet arrangements of this song and this Saturday we will be playing the gorgeous ballad version as Hannah walks down the aisle. There won’t be a dry eye in the church!
