For my piece of the week I have chosen the music of John Rutter who is most well-known for his beautiful Christmas songs and carols. One of my personal favourites is his Candlelight Carol which The Lochrian Ensemble enjoy playing at Christmas weddings as we have a lovely string quartet arrangement. It is absolutely perfect for interweaving amongst the more standard repertoire and it certainly sets the festive mood.
